Natural Tinnitus Treatment

Tinnitus is a physical condition that is characterized by the chronic or irregular perception of noise or ringing in the inner ear. Affecting between 15% and 20% of adults in the U.S., tinnitus is usually an indicator of age-related hearing-loss, a circulatory system disorder, or an underlying condition in the inner ear (i.e. vertigo or TMJ).

How the Upper Cervical Spine Affects Tinnitus

Despite its high prevalence rate, tinnitus remains a very misunderstood condition, with few treatment options available from traditional medical practitioners. An often-overlooked cause of tinnitus is vertebral misalignment in the upper cervical spine.

In addition to contributing to chronic back and neck pain, a misalignment in the upper cervical spine can also create pressure on the craniofacial nerve centers in and around the inner ear. Left untreated, this pressure may disrupt the auditory processing pathways of the brain, causing unpleasant ringing or buzzing in the inner ear.

How Our Tinnitus Treatment Works

Inflammation or injury in the upper cervical spine can have a cascading effect on the entire body. The goal of our upper cervical chiropractic treatment for tinnitus is to return the upper cervical spine to its natural alignment. By restoring misaligned vertebra back into place, we hope to alleviate any pressure that may be disrupting inner ear neurological function.

However, before we can correct an abnormality in the upper cervical spine, we will first need to run a number of objective chiropractic tests to identify whether there is actually a misalignment. Following this, we will likely perform a Cone Bean CT (CBCT) scan. This procedure is significantly less invasive than a conventional X-Ray and allows for our chiropractors to get an exact reading on the angle and location of the misaligned vertebra.

Finally, we will formulate a personal recovery plan for correcting your misalignment. While traditional chiropractic programs often involve some uncomfortable or even painful techniques, our chiropractors prefer a gentler approach — this means you can rest easy knowing that our team won’t use any pulling, cracking, or twisting correction techniques.

We offer consultation and chiropractic treatment for tinnitus in Las Vegas and greater Clark County. Since expanding our service area, we also offer tinnitus treatment in a number of neighboring states, including California, Arizona, and Utah.
